Overview
The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University serves as a cross-disciplinary and practical learning hub that produces rigorous research to promote economic inclusion, civic engagement, and social equity. The Kirwan Institute has extensive networks in and out of the academy, conducts community-engaged research, and disseminates findings widely through convenings, media, and an array of publications (i.e., articles, reports, issue briefings) aimed at informing policy, practice, and social activism in the domain of racial and ethnic inclusion. Building upon a strong foundation, Kirwan’s new executive director, Darrick Hamilton, has laid out a vision for the institute to advance its reputation as a resource and partner, generating new knowledge and understanding to inform policy and practice around racial and economic justice.
