Overview
The Niskanen Center advances prosperity and human flourishing through policies promoting social insurance, public goods, market competition, and state capacity. With support from this grant, the center will host a workshop examining legal issues surrounding state capacity — i.e., the capacity of government to implement policy effectively and efficiently. The workshop aims to foster increased attention from the legal academic community on issues of administrative burden and government effectiveness. The project seeks to contribute to enhancing the government’s capacity to address America’s pressing challenges through more efficient policy implementation and improved public service delivery.

Niskanen formulates economical and effective policies that reduce the magnitude and impact of climate change through original research, analysis, writing, building coalitions, and legal work. Niskanen’s Climate program prioritizes work on transmission reform, critical minerals, clean firm technologies, and carbon pricing and trade.
