The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan think tank and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the quality of government decision making. This grant will help support the institute’s capacity to continue its influential research and advocacy on regulatory policy. Projects will focus on such topics as improving distributional analysis to ensure that regulations appropriately benefit (and do not burden) disadvantaged/vulnerable communities; modernizing the analysis behind transportation sector regulations, to properly account for pollution reductions and consumer savings; and advocating for all relevant policy decisions to account for the economic impacts of climate change.

for the Initiative for Community Power at NYU School of Law
The Initiative for Community Power at NYU is an ambitious, multifaceted project to catalyze understanding, innovation, high-impact work, and social change. The initiative combines scholarship, field-building, experiential education, academic convenings, internships, and fellowships to examine how inequality functions, is exacerbated, and can most effectively be disrupted — in our economy and democracy. The initiative is sponsored by the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law at NYU School of Law and NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
for support of the Center for Social Media and Politics
The Center for Social Media and Politics at New York University supports lab-based, interdisciplinary research in three core areas: (a) the relationship between social media and politics, with particular emphasis on the production, flow, and impact of information on social media; (b) innovative ways to use social media data to study politics; and (c) the development of open-source tools that facilitate the use of social media data for the study of politics. By disseminating the lab’s research to those outside the scholarly community — including the media, government, and civic and philanthropic organizations — the center will inform ongoing discussions about the effects of social media on democratic politics.
for the Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law
The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law uses economics and law to support smart policies for the environment, public health, and consumers. The institute contributes original research in the fields of economics, administrative law, and public policy, and advocates for reform. In the coming year, the institute is focused on securing effective new federal energy and environmental regulations from key agencies; improving energy market rules at federal, regional, and state levels; and providing research and legal defense on the proper use of the social cost of greenhouse gases. This grant provides flexible support for the institute. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)
