Grants to this Grantee
for the Modernizing Regulatory Review Project
The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan think tank and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the quality of government decision making. This grant will help support the institute’s capacity to continue its influential research and advocacy on regulatory policy. Projects will focus on such topics as improving distributional analysis to ensure that regulations appropriately benefit (and do not burden) disadvantaged/vulnerable communities; modernizing the analysis behind transportation sector regulations, to properly account for pollution reductions and consumer savings; and advocating for all relevant policy decisions to account for the economic impacts of climate change.
for local advocacy efforts promoting culturally responsive education
New York University’s Metro Center focuses on driving equity and access in urban, suburban, and rural school settings, especially when confronting issues of difference across race, gender, gender identity, national origin, and socioeconomic status. The Education Justice Research and Organizing Collaborative, a Metro Center project, brings together researchers, data and policy analysts, and community organizers to provide critical research, data, policy, and strategic support for the education justice movement. This grant supports the group in developing resources that can be used to advocate for culturally responsive learning opportunities for students. (Substrategy: Student and Community Voice)
for support of the Institute for Policy Integrity
The Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU’s School of Law is a nonpartisan advocacy organization and think tank dedicated to improving the quality of governmental decisionmaking. Established in 2008 with Hewlett Foundation support, it does so through advocacy and scholarship in the fields of administrative law, cost-benefit analysis, and public policy. The Institute is especially interested in promoting sound policy to protect the environment, public health and safety, and consumer welfare. In its first three years of operation, the Institute has established itself at NYU Law, participated extensively in state and federal advocacy, increased the capacity of governments and civil society to use cost-benefit analysis to promote sound public policy, and published numerous studies and academic pieces that have attracted the attention of media and policymakers alike.
