Overview
The New York Times Knowledge Network (NYTKN) requests support for the planning phase of an education collaboration in support of President Obama's Cairo Initiative. The goals of this initiative are to dramatically increase engagement between the U.S. and 6-8 selected Muslim majority nations and to support the improvement in the quality and access of formal and informal education systems in both sets of nations. During the initial phase NYTKN will serve as the convening organization, the recipient and responsible party for receiving and managing grants and other funds, a sub-granter to NGOS and other organizations in involved countries and as the lead planning and analysis organization. This program is a demonstration of the use of OER as a platform to stoke collaboration on a global scale. At the conclusion of the grant period, NYTKN will have a full project plan, with a governance structure ready for implementation with 6-8 MMN countries, and the U.S. and MMN partners identified.
(New, $125,000/1; 8% of project budget)
