This grant to New Venture Fund is for Fenomenal Funds, a feminist funder collaborative that seeks to advance the resilience and visibility of members of the Prospera International Network of Women’s Funds. Fenomenal Funds aims to ensure more and better resources for feminist movements by strengthening the ecosystem of women’s funds through shared governance and participatory grantmaking between women’s funds and private philanthropy. During the grant period, Fenomenal Funds will deepen its work with an emphasis on mutual learning, narrative infrastructure funding, strategic engagement with peer funders, and sustaining aligned action in shared governance. The Groundwork Collaborative, a fiscally sponsored project of New Venture Fund, is a think tank and advocacy project that starts new conversations on the economy by crafting stories about how the economy works that are accessible, intuitive, and compelling and are told through diverse spokespeople who are credible, plainspoken, and fearless. This grant supports Groundwork Collaborative’s work to grow support for the IRS to modernize its operations, build a direct tax filing option, and demonstrate that a well-funded government can play a critical role in strengthening our democracy.
