Overview
As part of the Fossil Fuel Reduction project, New Venture Fund has identified various research gaps that need to be addressed to increase its effectiveness: new performance metrics for all the strategies, new target policies for the regulatory reform strategy in Canada, and assessing the new threats oil transportation by rail in the US and in Canada. The recommended grant would fund the consultants and groups needed to address those gaps.

This grant will support The League, a fiscally sponsored project of New Venture Fund, which uses narrative and culture change campaigns to create a cultural environment supportive of reproductive rights and justice. The League is one of few organizations doing narrative and culture change work at scale with a gender justice lens and that has the infrastructure to do this work across a variety of sectors. The Groundwork Collaborative, a fiscally sponsored project of New Venture Fund, is a think tank and advocacy project that starts new conversations on the economy by crafting stories about how the economy works that are accessible, intuitive, and compelling and are told through diverse spokespeople who are credible, plainspoken, and fearless. This grant supports Groundwork Collaborative’s work to grow support for the IRS to modernize its operations, build a direct tax filing option, and demonstrate that a well-funded government can play a critical role in strengthening our democracy.
