Overview
The New Politics Leadership Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to introducing a new generation of leadership to politics by recruiting, training, and mentoring the most promising and authentic civic- and service-minded individuals to run for office or get involved in policy and politics. These leaders—military veterans and alumni of civilian service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps—are some of our country’s most qualified and experienced problem solvers and change makers. Together, this new generation of leadership can help transcend polarization and gridlock. This general operating grant will help New Politics engage and develop these servant leaders into the political pipeline.

The New Politics Leadership Academy is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to recruiting and supporting service program alumni (both military veterans and alumni of civilian service programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps) to seek elected office. The academy believes that these proven servant leaders are the best problem solvers and changemakers in our nation, and we need them in positions of political power or supporting those in power as staff or policy advisors. The academy’s array of holistic leadership development programming is designed to first help servant leaders discern within themselves whether they feel called to serve through politics, and then to help them develop as aspiring political leaders.
