Overview
A grant to the New America Foundation would support the establishment of an interdisciplinary center to convene thinkers around international security, technology policy, human rights, and social justice in the field of cybersecurity. This program is an important step in raising awareness about cybersecurity and its implications for international, national, economic, and individual security. If funded, the New America Foundation will create the "Cybersecurity for Everyone" Initiative, which will produce a body of research in areas of cybersecurity that have not been fully explored, build networks of thinkers focused on cybersecurity issues, and reach out to the media, policymakers, and citizens to increase understanding of cybersecurity.

New America is a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to renewing, reimagining, and realizing the promise of America in an era of rapid technological and social change. New America’s Education Policy program builds on existing efforts to elevate the importance of equity and inclusion and the role of high-quality open educational resources and practices in ensuring academic excellence and well-being for all students. This will be accomplished through research and policy analysis, case making, community building, and the development of open tools and prototypes that can be piloted in districts and communities.
