Abortion Access Front (AAF) uses humor and real-time media to destigmatize abortion and expose antichoice forces working to dismantle access to reproductive rights in the United States. AAF breaks daily reproductive rights news and analysis; engages audiences through funny videos, live broadcasts, and social media; and is a trusted source for rapid response information. It also provides on-the-ground aid, morale boosting, and community building to abortion providers servicing low-income and people of color in states that are politically hostile to abortion. This grant will support the North Star project, a collaboration of members of the reproductive rights, health, and justice movement that aims to achieve a long-term vision of gender justice, in which everyone is able to live, love, and thrive regardless of their race or gender. This includes ensuring access to abortion, contraception, maternal health care, and other reproductive needs that allow people to build the families they want. The project has two main purposes: steering the collaboration to a shared “north star” vision of what it is working toward, and producing content, findings, and strategies that advance policy and culture to achieve that vision.
