Overview
Native Americans in Philanthropy engages, educates, and empowers a sacred circle of Indigenous peoples and philanthropies to create healthy and sustainable communities for all. Their flagship programs include educating philanthropic leaders, enhancing native nonprofit leadership, and investing in data and research. Now they are taking a bolder stance toward supporting advocacy and movement building, as well, recognizing that these are also necessary to making positive and long-term impact in our communities. This grant will provide both membership support from the Effective Philanthropy Program and supplemental general operating support from the Western Conservation strategy.

This grant supports the Tribal Nations Climate and Conservation Pledge and Funding Collaborative, which invests in biodiversity and conservation projects lead by Tribes; a learning circle, hosted in partnership with the Biodiversity Funders Group; and now also supports research, technical assistance, legal analysis, and capacity for Tribes to engage in formal consultation and processes for siting new critical minerals and clean energy projects.
