Since its establishment in 1990, the organization has been supporting Native professionals in philanthropy, advocating for equitable and effective philanthropic practices in Native communities, and creating programs to address the most critical needs of Native peoples. Native Americans in Philanthropy engages, educates, and empowers a sacred circle of Indigenous peoples and philanthropies to create healthy and sustainable communities for all. This grant supports the Tribal Nations Conservation and Climate Pledge and Funding Collaborative, which invests in biodiversity and conservation projects lead by Tribal Nations, resources Tribes to address proposed new critical minerals mining projects, and facilitates a philanthropic learning circle, hosted in partnership with the Biodiversity Funders Group.
