Grants to this Grantee
for the West national parks energy program
Proposals to lease public land for oil and gas development next to iconic national parks like Chaco, Mesa Verde, and Arches threaten their integrity. This grant to the National Parks and Conservation Association (NPCA) will support the organization's work to ensure national park resources are protected unimpaired for the enjoyment of all Americans. NPCA will work with federal agencies responsible for oil and gas leasing decisions to make sure oil and gas plans adequately account for national park values, educate the public and decision-makers on the impacts oil and gas development can have on parks, and engage its members and other stakeholders to help achieve its goals.
