Overview
Montalvo Association is a multi-disciplinary arts center housed on the grounds of a 100-year-old villa listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its 16 stand-alone buildings, including a 1,400-seat amphitheater and artist residencies, are surrounded by 175 acres of park grounds and gardens. Each year, 20,000 people visit Montalvo to attend an array of more than 140 events. Approximately 60 local, national, and international artists, of all disciplines, annually participate in the Lucas Artists Residency Program. On the occasion of its centennial in 2012, Montalvo launched the $50 million Fund for the Future campaign to ensure the long-term sustainability of this vital Silicon Valley-based cultural resource. The campaign will establish a permanent endowment and secure restricted funds to help care for Montalvo’s expansive property, support capital needs, and provide income to continue the advancement of its mission to offer a place for the entire community to engage in the creative process.
