Overview
Minds Matter Bay Area (MMBay) is an education nonprofit that connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. MMBay breaks the cycle of intergenerational poverty for low-income students by addressing the specific issue of college “undermatching”: the underrepresentation of high-achieving, low-income students at selective colleges across the country. Founded in 2010, it has graduated over 200 alumni, all of whom have been low-income students in the Bay Area, and many of whom come from the most under-resourced schools in the Bay Area Unified School District. This grant provides general operating support to Minds Matter Bay Area.
