Overview
The MICA Group works to raise awareness about the importance of honoring cultural diversity and Indigenous ways of knowing in order to create a just, humane, and sustainable world. The group assists tribal and other underserved governments, communities, and their partners in achieving goals they set for themselves, including building systems of change through innovative, sustainable, and culturally appropriate strategies. These include the Cultural Resource Fund and fiscal sponsorship for aligned projects, including Apache Stronghold, which seeks to protect Oak Flat, a sacred religious ceremonial ground in Arizona, from new mining.
