Overview
A grant to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology would support the establishment of the MIT Cybersecurity Policy Initiative, a center for interdisciplinary collaboration that would help inform sustainable, effective cybersecurity policy. The Initiative would focus on the policy and technology elements of cybersecurity, with a research process aimed to engage external stakeholders, explore an in-depth set of research topics, and educate students, industry, and the public about cybersecurity issues. The Initiative would ground its work in three pillars of research: engineering, social science, and management, fostering collaboration among disciplines within and outside MIT. The goal of the Initiative is to expand the reach of cybersecurity issues across the University by integrating research into curriculum and attracting faculty and student interest.
