for support of the Makerere Institute of Social Research
The Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) offers interdisciplinary graduate training that produces globally oriented and locally generated scholarship, contributing to solutions to the social and political problems and inequalities facing African societies from the vantage point of African scholars. Over the next few years, MISR aims to deepen the integration of feminist methodology, decolonial pedagogy, and gender and regional diversity into the institute so that holistic care is routinely practiced within its teaching and learning — and subsequently reflected in the societies that it serves. This flexible program grant will enable MISR to strengthen these focal areas, including sustained, meaningful engagement with its diverse partners and evidence users.
