Overview
Maine Citizens for Clean Elections (MCCE) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to ensure that Maine’s campaign finance laws, elections, and government serve the public interest. The group engages Maine citizens from across the political spectrum, using research, education, and outreach to further fairness, inclusion, and opportunity in state politics. In 2016 Maine became the first state to uphold ranked choice voting, and over the last two years MCCE, in partnership with the League of Women Voters, has been organizing to ensure the long-term success of ranked choice voting in Maine by building broad and deep public and institutional understanding of ranked choice voting, and supporting public officials in implementing the new system with integrity and transparency.
