Overview
Living Jazz (formerly Rhythmic Concepts) provides jazz education and performance programs, including Jazz Camp West—an immersive summer camp experience for 250 participants aged 15 and older. Jam Camp West offers music training for 90 middle school students of all levels of experience. Living Jazz’s Oakland Children’s Community Choir is an in-school program that offers a minimum of four months of free music education to 405 students at three Oakland public schools, and an annual Martin Luther King, Jr. tribute concert showcases local musicians and schoolchildren. Organizational Effectiveness support will enable Living Jazz to prepare its fundraising and leadership capacity for a planned leadership transition in the next five years.
