(Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)

To create a stronger and more equitable public education system, the Learning Policy Institute provides policymakers and stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels with the evidence, ideas, and actions needed to improve education. This grant provides general operating support for the Institute. (Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)
for supporting socioculturally responsive assessment systems anchored in OpenSciEd
The Learning Policy Institute conducts high-quality research to improve education policy and practice. With this grant, the institute will support states working on performance assessment systems anchored in high-quality instructional materials, in particular OpenSciEd. With the institute’s support, states will develop fair, valid, and meaningful assessments by producing research, examples, and guidance for socioculturally responsive assessment practices in science. The project also helps to advance the effective use of open educational resources and practices in ways that enable more responsive teaching and better learning. (Strategy: Open Education)
