for PoderArte
The Latino Community Foundation exists to unleash the civic and economic power of Latinos. The community foundation supports organizations that advance education, health and safety, civic engagement, and youth leadership. Its PoderArte program invests in nonprofit collaborations with artists and culture bearers that cultivate a sense of belonging, boost civic engagement, and transform community narratives; in its first phase, the program distributed 28 awards totaling $2 million and helped to foster a learning community through technical assistance, workshops, and networking. Support for PoderArte advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy by creating relevant and accessible opportunities in the Bay Area for artistic expression and cultural pride.
