Overview
La Pocha Nostra is a cross-disciplinary company that seeks to erase borders between art and politics, practice and theory, artist and spectator. The company creates performances that speak to the lives of Chicanos, Latinos, and marginalized people throughout the world, providing an artistic home for a diverse network of international artists. La Pocha Nostra annually reaches more than 8,000 audience members both locally and beyond, in performances ranging from solo readings to large scale productions. In addition, the company regularly offers a suite of workshops, artist camps, and university residencies. Renewed funding will support ongoing efforts to build operational capacity and expand the organization’s local performances.
