The Karuk Tribe is one of the largest tribes in California. The Tribe’s ancestral territory extends along the Klamath River through Northwestern California and into Southern Oregon. Today, the Tribe is located in Humboldt and Siskiyou counties. This grant supports the Tribe to organize an inclusive, intertribal convening to initiate collective discussion on how California Tribes wish to organize around forest and fire management issues.
