Overview
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network supports more than 9,000 journalists from 130 developing countries to cover the environment more effectively. To improve the quantity and quality of environmental reporting globally, the Earth Journalism Network offers workshops and training materials, fellowship programs, and grants for working journalists. This grant will support the Network’s India team to carry out a series of journalism training workshops in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The trainings will happen in Hindi, as well as major state languages.

for legal capacity building  
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network supports more than 9,000 journalists from 130 countries in the Global South to cover the environment and climate issues more effectively. Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) will receive this grant to enhance legal capacity and compliance of EJN activities, through regular engagement with at least one lawyer or legal firm conversant with laws and policy guidelines on carrying out projects consistent with necessary legal provisions.
for enhancing education and awareness of clean energy  
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network supports more than 9,000 journalists from 130 countries in the Global South to cover the environment and climate issues more effectively. Earth Journalism Network will offer workshops and training materials, as well as professional development fellowships for working journalists who cover these issues in an independent, fact-based fashion. In this project, the network will also carry out training for the trainers to enhance capacity to communicate on clean energy and climate. (Substrategy: Climate Communications)

Internews' Earth Journalism Network helps train journalists on climate and energy issues around the world. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic restricting travel and in-person gatherings, this OE grant will enable EJN to develop better Information Technology capacity to provide online trainings and outreach.
