Overview
The Institute for Natural Resources Journalism provides environmental reporters with an opportunity to learn about current Western conservation issues through focused week-long trips. Over the Institute's lifetime hundreds of print, electronic and social media reporters have taken trips to better understand a wide variety of environmental challenges facing the West from energy development to wild land protection. Two issues are conspiring to cause the Institute to examine to possibility of a merger with another like-minded organization. First, the founder, Frank Allen, is retiring. Second, fundraising has become an increasing challenge. This organizational effectiveness grant would allow the Institute to hire a consultant to examine the merits of a merger and to seek potential merger partners.
