Overview
The Institute works around the world to design and implement high quality transport systems and policy solutions that make cities more livable, equitable, and sustainable. The organization’s priority in the coming months is to support specific cities in India, China, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia, to develop policies and budgeting practices that explicitly favor low carbon and equitable transport modes. Globally, the Institute works to provide information on how transport projects are financed and seeks to build support from national governments, multilateral organizations and international banks.

Grants to this Grantee
for scaling up electric charging infrastructure and parking management in Indian cities
The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy aims to create sustainable, livable, and equitable cities around the world. With this grant, the institute will focus on scaling up electric charging infrastructure that’s integrated with progressive parking management systems, through supportive policies and action plans, for cities in India. (Substrategy: Electrification)
for advancing electrification in China and India transport
The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy promotes environmentally sustainable and socially equitable transportation in cities worldwide. This grant supports the institute to make progress toward its goal of replacing high-carbon personal vehicles with low-carbon shared and electric vehicles. Specifically, the institute will work with cities to electrify buses, informal transit, and shared micromobility in China and India. The lessons from this work will serve to inform the development of a global electric bus policy and implementation guidebook.
