The Institute for Democratic Education in America (IDEA) mobilizes communities to advance meaningful learning and build a more just and sustainable democracy. The institute’s work is grounded in two core principles: (a) building power in communities by supporting local youth, educators, and parents to be the leaders and drivers of change; and (b) leading with racial justice and equity by recognizing systemic racism and vast inequity. The institute supports people and communities to develop the vision, stories, tools, and strategies to create equitable educational systems. This grant will support IDEA's strategic communications and planning and staff development.
