for the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy to continue a research dissemination pilot
The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy increases the understanding of philanthropy and improves its practice worldwide through critical inquiry, interdisciplinary research, teaching, training, and civic engagement. In addition to offering bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in philanthropic studies, the school also does research on the field of philanthropy. Among the ongoing research projects is Giving USA, the longest-running, most comprehensive analysis of the sources and uses of U.S. charitable giving. With this grant, the school will continue developing a research dissemination strategy and endeavor to help academic research better reach donors and foundation staff so that it can inform their work.
for the Ostrom Workshop Program on Cybersecurity and Internet Governance
A grant to Indiana University’s (IU) Ostrom Workshop Program on Cybersecurity and Internet Governance will enhance the critical cybersecurity infrastructure resilience of under-resourced stakeholders across the Midwest, focusing on local municipalities, school corporations, and small utilities. In partnership with IU’s Maurer School of Law, IU’s Ostrom Workshop Program will launch three interrelated initiatives: (a) the IU Cybersecurity Clinic, which will directly support operators in need of on-the-ground cybersecurity expertise while providing applied training opportunities for multidisciplinary teams of students working under faculty supervision; (b) the development of a resource center that will distill critical infrastructure research, which will be distributed through Cybersecurity Policy Boot Camps; and (c) the launch of the Midwest Cybersecurity Alliance, to spread these findings and help partner universities and community colleges create similar clinics and boot camps.
