Healthy Schools Campaign, a national nonprofit, works to ensure that schools can provide students with healthy environments, nutritious food, health services, and opportunities for physical activity. The organization’s chief goal is to ensure that schools have the capacity to support and sustain healthy learning environments for children. Through this grant, the organization will continue to work with states and school districts to leverage new and sustainable funding for physical and mental health services in schools; provide guidance and resources to the broader field to support scaling and sustaining the expansion of school health services; evaluate the use of chronic absenteeism data to support healthy student growth and development; and highlight the importance of healthy schools in the national discourse. The Healthy Schools Campaign has since 2002 worked to advance policies and practices that enhance student learning.
