Overview
The Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School is dedicated to exploring the intersection of press, politics, and public policy. Given the rise of misinformation, the Center has created the Technology and Social Change research project to rapidly build the field of Critical Internet Studies across academia, working with policymakers, industry, and newsrooms. This grant will in part support the development of a shared digital research infrastructure: The Global Media Manipulation Case Book, a publicly available encyclopedia of media manipulation case studies. This project will set a methodological standard for researching these issues and provide practical and ethical training on platform accountability, information and cybersecurity, and political polarization.
