Overview
Grantmakers in the Arts is the only national association of private and public funders making grants to artists and arts organization in America, with more than 1,300 members, which include private, family, community and corporate foundations as well as government agencies and national service organizations, working together to increase support for artists and organizations in every community. Support for the annual conference to be held in Los Angeles in October 2015, a core program of the organization, will help to ensure that 300 private and public funders have an opportunity to engage with each other, and participate in the cultural and diversity of the host city.

Its programs include an annual conference, a web conference series, thought leader forums, and publications. This grant to Grantmakers in the Arts will support an internal equity, inclusion and diversity (EID) process. It advances the Performing Arts Program’s strategic framework by connecting the foundation to a community of other grantmakers that support arts and culture.

The Arts Education Funder’s Coalition is an affinity group for its members with an interest in policy change that might broaden access to arts education in public schools. This grant to Grantmakers in the Arts, for its Arts Education Funder’s Coalition, advances the Performing Arts Program’s Youth strategy through the Policy and Advocacy substrategy.
