Grantmakers in the Arts is North America’s only national association of private and public funders that make grants to artists and arts organizations. Grantmakers in the Arts has more than 1,300 members: private, family, community, and corporate foundations; government agencies; and national service organizations. Its programs include a well-regarded annual conference, a web conference series, thought leader forums, and publications. In recent years, Grantmakers in the Arts has also taken a leading role in arts education advocacy, convening the Arts Education Funders Coalition, which is also supported by the Hewlett Foundation.

Grantmakers in the Arts is the only national association of private and public funders making grants to artists and arts organization in America, with more than 1,300 members, which include private, family, community and corporate foundations as well as government agencies and national service organizations, working together to increase support for artists and organizations in every community. To that end, this grant will support: 1) two capitalization workshops in the Bay Area to raise funder awareness of effective ways to build the financial health of grantees, and 2) develop a coalition of arts education funders to develop a long-term unifying vision for arts education in the country.
