Overview
Grantmakers in the Arts is the only national association of private and public funders that make grants to artists and arts organizations in the United States. With a mission to provide leadership and service to advance the use of philanthropic resources on behalf of arts and culture, it has more than 1,300 members: private, family, community, and corporate foundations; government agencies; and national service organizations. The association’s programs include a well-regarded annual conference, a web conference series, and thought leader forums. Grantmakers in the Arts has also taken a leading role in arts education advocacy in recent years, convening the Arts Education Funders Coalition, which is supported by the Hewlett Foundation. Renewed support would allow Grantmakers in the Arts to continue to provide members with networking opportunities and research from the field through high-quality convenings, as well as the implementation a new communications plan.
