Overview
Berkeley Society for the Preservation of Traditional Music, better known as the Freight & Salvage, provides concerts, music instruction, and participatory programs for 88,000 people each year. Specializing in folk, traditional, and world music, it offers classes and concerts nearly every evening at its 440-seat facility in Berkeley. This organizational effectiveness grant will enable the Freight & Salvage to undertake an organizational assessment, and provide training programs for staff, volunteers, and board members, to advance the tenets of diversity, equity and inclusion in the organization’s culture and structure.
