Overview
Frameline strengthens diverse LGBT communities by supporting and promoting a broad array of cultural representations and artistic expressions in film, video, and other media arts. Its annual film festival is the longest-running, largest, and most widely recognized LGBT film exhibition event in the world with an annual attendance of 60,000. In addition, Frameline presents year-round film screenings, distributes more than 250 film and media titles, and provides small grants to filmmakers.

Frameline is the longest running exhibitor of films made by LGBTQ+ filmmakers, and a leading distributor and provider of filmmaker support. Each year, its flagship San Francisco film festival attracts 40,000 in-person attendees, engages over 100 community partners, and features approximately 150 films. In addition, Frameline provides year-round programs that engage audiences in the Bay Area and beyond, support filmmakers, and promote school safety through a nationwide youth program. This grant to Frameline advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
