Grants to this Grantee
for strategic and business planning for LearningWorks
LearningWorks (LW), which the Hewlett Foundation helped to launch in 2010 under the auspices of the Foundation for California Community Colleges, is a partnership between three organizations with a common mission to improve outcomes for academically at-risk community college students. With Hewlett’s grant coming to an end, LearningWorks now proposes to engage a consultant to help the organization design a plan for its ongoing sustainability.
for the LearningWorks project
Foundation for California Community Colleges (Sacramento, CA) – Project; Tie-off; $1,944,000 over 3 years; 85% of project budget For the LearningWorks project With Hewlett support, the Foundation for California Community Colleges would launch a new center to promote student success and degree completion in all of California’s community colleges through a professional network of faculty and administrators. The result of a multi-year planning process, the LearningWorks will leverage the core capacities of three partner organizations to help faculty use evidence to improve practice; support the incubation and dissemination of new, effective, and innovative approaches to instruction and course design; and create practitioner-centered learning networks regionally and statewide. LearningWorks will also work with faculty and campuses to use campus-level student outcome data to gauge the effect of adopting these approaches and methods.
