About the Grantee
Grants to this Grantee
for accelerating climate ambition through nationally determined contributions
The European Climate Foundation is working to unlock a new era of ambitious climate action by promoting transformative nationally determined contributions (NDCs) at the Conference of Parties in Brazil (COP30). The foundation’s International Climate Politics Hub will engage at national, European, and international levels to create the conditions for the delivery of stronger NDCs.
for the 2050 Pathways Platform
The 2050 Pathways Platform was launched in 2016 following the adoption of the Paris Agreement and its call for countries to elaborate long-term, low-emissions development strategies. Hosted by the European Climate Foundation, the Pathways Platform aims to initiate a deeper dialogue on “macroeconomic just transition,” ultimately building greater accountability of countries’ net-zero commitments.
for general operating support
The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was established in early 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help Europe foster the development of a low-carbon society and play an even stronger international leadership role in mitigating climate change. ECF advances policy in the areas of energy, transportation, buildings, low-carbon finance, industry, and energy efficiency. The organization works to develop policy at the local, national, and European Union level. It also supports international efforts to mitigate carbon emissions through the United Nations and G20.
