Overview
Environment California is a leader of the Charge Ahead campaign, which works to ensure that California meets its goal of placing one million clean electric vehicles on the road by 2023 and 1.5 million by 2025. As of today, 224,000 electric vehicles have been sold. The priorities for the coming year include strengthening the Zero Emissions Vehicle Mandate in California, and improving the implementation of the Charge Ahead Initiative programs for low-income communities. In addition, the organization will support the efforts of the City of Los Angeles, both as a new ally and to serve as a model for the implementation of electric mobility.

for the Charge Ahead California Campaign
Charge Ahead California works to make electric vehicles a convenient and cost-effective choice for Californians. The priorities for 2015 include supporting the implementation of the Zero Emissions Vehicle Mandate in California, aimed at reaching 1.5 million electric cars, buses, and trucks on the road by 2025, and the Charge Ahead Initiative, which contains a series of clean transportation incentives for low-income communities using revenues of the state’s cap and trade program.
for the One Million Electric Cars Campaign
The One Million Electric Cars Campaign works to reach the goal of having 1 million electric and other zero-emission cars on California’s roads over the next decade. Environment California is leading a multiyear campaign with a nascent coalition of other environmental and environmental justice groups. The main outcome in 2014 will be the creation of a multiyear, multibillion-dollar incentive program to lower the upfront cost of electric cars, using revenue from the implementation of transportation elements in California’s climate change law.
