Grants to this Grantee
for Green For All's common ground strategy
This grant supports Green For All’s common ground strategy, a program of Dream Corps that aims to advance smart, equitable climate policies and unite the country around a shared vision for a clean energy economy. (Substrategy: U.S. National Policy)
for the Network Building Program
Dream Corps is a nonprofit social justice accelerator founded in 2015 by CNN’s Van Jones. The platform is based on a simple but powerful idea: that society can reshape "what’s possible" in the fields of social justice by focusing on solutions, not silos. Since its founding, Dream Corps has impacted millions of lives by working with various stakeholders to (a) transform the criminal justice system; (b) increase opportunity in the tech sector; (c) build an inclusive green economy; and (d) shrink the culture of intolerance, fear, and division. This grant will support the Network Building Program, which will leverage Dream Corps’ political and corporate connections to bring key influencers and policymakers to the table with leaders from the environmental, criminal, and tech justice communities. Through the breadth of the organization’s relationships, it is well positioned as a connector between the grassroots and the grasstops. Through acting as a convener and developing its Network Building Program, Dream Cops will help ensure that this country’s reform efforts have a bottom-up, top-down, and bipartisan approach.
for general operating support
Dream Corps is a social justice accelerator focused on supporting cutting-edge initiatives. Founded by Van Jones — a social entrepreneur, CNN political contributor, and host of The Van Jones Show on CNN — the organization supports economic, environmental, and criminal justice innovators in a shared platform for change. Dream Corps plans to propel its work forward and dramatically increase its impact through its four initiatives: Green For All, #cut50, #YesWeCode, and #LoveArmy. It will also allow the organization to further activate and engage its sizable and growing community of supporters toward further bridging areas of social, economic, and racial justice.
