Overview
China Dialogue seeks to inform Western audiences about the progress China has made in moving away from fossil fuels and the development of clean technologies that are aligned with promoting robust economic growth in China. The organization also informs Chinese and international audiences on both the damage caused by climate change in China and the human health toll from an over-reliance on fossil fuels. China Dialogue will work in partnership with the European Climate Foundation’s Global Strategic Climate Communications hub to further these objectives.

for operational and fundraising planning for regional offices, and wellness  
China Dialogue identifies, promotes and supports the unique voices that increase understanding, share experiences and inspire a higher awareness of the planet’s challenges, from both in and outside China. This organizational effectiveness grant will support China Dialogue Trust in developing a resilient and effective global operational model, through enhanced regional offices, a more robust governance structure and a sustainable and implementable funding strategy. It will support China Dialogue Trust to smooth its new global branding campaign. There is also an allocation in this grant for wellness in furtherance of the organization’s charitable purpose.
for building and cultivating China climate reporting  
China Dialogue is an independent, fact-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a common understanding of China’s environmental challenges. This grant will support China Dialogue Trust to continue to grow the scope and impact of its critical, in-depth climate and environment reporting and analysis. The organization also works to enhance understanding of key climate issues in countries in the Global South, and develop and share critical information across a range of policy, science, economic, and technical issue areas. The Hewlett Foundation exercises no control, editorial or otherwise, over China Dialogue’s newsroom and programs. (Substrategy: China National Policy)
for enhancing organizational structure and governance to meet global strategy implementation needs  
This grant will support the China Dialogue Trust in improving its organizational structure, development and governance to better carry out its new global strategy. It will enable China Dialogue Trust in supporting its senior management to create organizational structures fit for its new phase of global growth, support trustees in setting up effective governance arrangements, and to help China Dialogue Trust with a particular focus on greater diversity and representation of global south audiences and stakeholders.
