Overview
Founded in 2001, Electionline serves as a key source for federal, state and local elections administrators, academics, journalists and others to learn about recent news and best practices in elections administration. Electionline provides a specialized clips service tracking relevant news in the field via a once-a-week news analysis/article, opinion updates, important calendaring information, and other resources. Previously housed at Pew Charitable Trusts, Electionline was at risk of going dark after spinning off. For the next year, Electionline will work with TurboVote to improve operations while longer-term arrangements are determined. This grant will support operations during a one year period, as well as site and technical improvements, improved social media, and development planning, all in an effort to enhance longer-term sustainability. It will thus continue to serve a vital informing, networking, and stabilizing role in a field already being buffeted by substantial legal and regulatory changes, on the one hand, and the forthcoming recommendations of the President's Commission on Election Administration, on the other.
