Overview
DataKind engages data science and social sector experts on projects addressing critical humanitarian problems. Through deep data analysis volunteer data scientists work with nonprofits and NGOs to help answer pressing mission-related questions and gain new insights. After four years of growth, DataKind plans to expand its volunteer matching and community-building efforts further. To do so, they need a more robust system to screen and identify viable project opportunities. This grant would support the development of a system that will allow DataKind volunteers to manage their profiles, screen for projects that have high potential for success, and allow volunteers within DataKind’s Chapter Networks to share valuable lessons learned.
