Overview
The Hewlett Foundation recently supported a major strategic planning process for CREATE CA, a statewide initiative to restore arts education to California’s schools. Led by a coalition of five organizations (three of which are Hewlett grantees) and fiscally sponsored by the California Alliance for Arts Education, the initiative will act as a convenor and coordinator for arts education efforts across California, and create a public will campaign to elevate the arts as a key educational strategy. A grant for implementation of the plan will support progress towards strategic outcomes while building an infrastructure for CREATE CA’s sustainability and growth.
