Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
For more than 25 years, CounterPulse has supported hundreds of emerging multidisciplinary artists, who are engaged in the creation of cutting-edge and contemporary performance. It provides a suite of programs and services that include the commission and production of new work, fiscal sponsorship, and subsidized rehearsal and performance space. CounterPulse’s recently renovated facility is a beacon of neighborhood revitalization in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, as well as a stable space for performance artists who are challenged by displacement and the high cost of rehearsal and performance space in San Francisco.

For more than 25 years, CounterPulse has supported hundreds of emerging multidisciplinary artists, who are engaged in the creation of cutting-edge and contemporary performance, with a suite of programs and services that include the commission and production of new work, fiscal sponsorship, and subsidized rehearsal and performance space. CounterPulse's newly purchased and renovated facility at 80 Turk Street has become a beacon of neighborhood revitalization in the Tenderloin, as well as a shelter from displacement in a volatile market for many San Francisco performance artists. A renewal grant will support CounterPulse in expanding its programs in the new space to develop strategic partnerships and reach new audiences.
