Overview
The Council on Foundations has been supporting the development of a centralized repository of equivalency determinations by working with the Internal Revenue Service to get regulatory approval of a centralized repository of equivalency determinations. This would allow grantmakers to rely on the repository in lieu of a legal opinion, which is required today. This project is further described in the TechSoup Global proposal #7753.

Through its annual conference, regional issue-based salons, online Philanthropy Exchange platform, and other offerings, the council aims to “provide the opportunity, leadership, and tools needed by philanthropic organizations to expand, enhance, and sustain their ability to advance the common good.” This grant is for general operating support.
