Overview
The Council of Independent Colleges represents colleges and universities in the smaller, private, nonprofit sector. The council will evaluate the impact of OER initiatives among member institutions by examining student access and learning, integration of OER in courses, and institutional transformation. This research will prioritize institutions that serve historically underrepresented populations, such as students who identify as Black or Latinx, students who are first in their families to pursue a postsecondary education, and students from low-income households. Findings will provide guidance to the field about effective practices and inform the council’s capacity to support OER initiatives. (Substrategy: Sustainable Systems)
