Convergence Center for Policy Resolution

For Support Of The Building Consensus For Budget Process Reform Project

Overview
Efforts to use budget process reforms to help break the deadlock in federal budgeting present a major opportunity and a major challenge. Polarization and distrust mean many stakeholder groups are resistant to changes that might disadvantage them, even if there could be long-term benefits to the nation and positive impacts on governance. This project by Convergence, a nonprofit organization focused on solving social and political challenges through collaboration, will engage groups on different sides of the budget debate to identify and air their concerns, hopes, and priorities in order to achieve an agreed framework for designing federal budgets that balance competing interests, as well as current and future needs.
