Consorcio Oaxaca

For General Operating Support

Overview
Consorcio Oaxaca is a feminist civil organization that was established in Oaxaca in 2003 with the purpose of promoting citizen networks, training women to recognize their rights, and influencing legislative and public policy. The organization envisions a participatory, anti-patriarchal society in which people and their communities enjoy a dignified life with self-determination and freedom. To achieve these goals, Consorcio Oaxaca provides legal advice and support to women in cases of domestic violence, femicide, divorce, alimony, custody, and sexual harassment at work or school. The organization also gathers data, generates content on patterns of violence and emblematic cases, strengthens capacity for change, creates networks of human rights defenders, and advocates with key stakeholders to guide public policy in Mexico and internationally.
