Overview
Community School of Music and Arts is one of the Bay Area’s largest music and visual arts education organizations, providing arts training for 40,000 people of all ages and abilities. The organization’s music program includes individual lessons, group classes, camps, and public performances; its in-school programs provide weekly standards-based, sequential visual arts and music classes in thirty-five local schools, reaching 15,000 children in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, including some of the region’s most underserved populations. New leadership and strategic planning have strengthened the organization’s resolve to grow and sustain its programs and facility.

It’s programs reach over 25,000 students of all ages each year, including approximately 19,000 youth at 55 local schools. Support of Community School of Music and Arts aligns with the Performing Arts Program’s Youth strategy through the Program Delivery substrategy.

Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) is one of the Bay Area’s largest music and visual arts education organizations, providing arts training for people of all ages and abilities. The organization’s music program includes individual lessons, group classes, camps, and public performances. Its in-school programs provide weekly standards-based, sequential visual arts and music classes in 58 local schools, reaching 23,000 children in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties with a focus on Title I schools. Support of CSMA aligns with the Program’s Communities strategy. This grant to CSMA is for a redesign of the organization’s website to comply with accessibility guidelines named in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
